Fire Marshal's OfficeOur mission: It is our duty to prevent injuries, and the loss of life and
property by providing the citizens we serve a safe living environment through the professional applications of code applications, investigations, education and intervention programs. Code applications are for fire and life safety issues in new construction. This involves building plan reviews and on site inspections. The Fire Marshal and/or Inspector look at egress windows, smoke detector placement, fire blocking, fire alarms, fire sprinklers, occupant loads and most importantly electrical installations in buildings and docks. The Fire Marshal also assists the Camden County Health Department with fire safety inspections for lodging establishments. The Fire Marshal's Office is also in charge of determining the origin and cause of fires in the district whether it might be accidental or arson. The Fire Marshal's Office is in charge of fire and safety prevention programs for all ages of the public, and also an intervention program called Youth Fire-setter Intervention, this program provides us with the tools to change the factors that lead to fire setting. |
